About Me
Ellie Zuntz performs as a cellist, playing both modern and baroque cello in classical, contemporary and historic ensembles. Ellie has a wide experience of orchestral, chamber and baroque repertoire having performed amongst others with the Dartington Festival Orchestra, and the Brecon Beacons Festival Orchestra, both led by Rachel Podger, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Symphony Orchestra, (Principal Cello), Harry Christophers’ Genesis Project, (cello continuo), The Hallé Youth Orchestra, Newport Philharmonic, Bath Philharmonic, Bristol Philharmonic and the Edinburgh Festival-based Rehearsal Orchestra.
Ellie is a founder member, with Aden Yip, Dora Seaton and Rob Cavaye, of the Ensemble Ordinario, who perform baroque music regularly in South Wales. The ensemble string members play on period instruments with gut strings, accompanied by a harpsichord tuned to 415 Hz.
Ellie also plays viola da gamba with the RWCMD Viol Group led by Lucy Robinson.
Ellie recently graduated from the RWCMD, where she was awarded the Helen Rachel Mackaness Scholarship to study for an M.Mus in Performance, after obtaining a BA Mus. from Bath Spa University. Ellie’s teachers include Matthew Spring, Anna Menzies, Elizabeth Anderson and Claudine Cassidy. Ellie has attended valuable Masterclasses with Abel Selaocoe, Harry Christophers, Rachel Podger and many others.

Performance
I am available as to perform as a modern cellist, baroque cellist or viol player in small or large ensembles in the south Wales area. I have knowledge of orchestra repertoire and solid skills and experience in historical performance practice.
Teaching
I offer lessons in cello and piano in person in the Cardiff area and online worldwide.
I have particular skills and experience in teaching adult learners and beginner children.
